Kozier Farm
Wildlife
Throughout
the year there is a cycle of wildlife that passes through. From the
windows of the house you may see moose, deer, bears, or coyotes.
Small
birds and squirrels are busy at work all around. Every once and a while
a majestic bald eagle glides above the tree line. Canada geese use the
fields as a rest stop during both the spring and autumn as they make
their journey north or south for the winter.
The forest on the property is home to black bears that graze the pasture
and hayfields. The Terrace area is also home to the grizzly bear. The
symbol for the City of Terrace is the unique, white Kermodei bear. Other
animals that are around the property are porcupines, wolves, hawks, and
owls. And don't forget the fish in the bordering Skeena River.
This
river, and near by tributary rivers, provide excellent recreational
fishing for salmon (chinook, coho, sockeye, pink) trout and steelhead.
